Thanassis Krikis was born and raised in Kastoria, Greece. Before establishing himself as a photographer he studied fashion design and illustration in New York and moved to London to attend St. Martins College of Art and Design and graduated in Fashion/Textiles.

However, Krikis soon understood Photography was his true calling and started taking photographs in 2005 and quickly started contributing to major International publications such as Dansk, Harper's Bazaar Brazil, L'Officiel Paris, Numero Russia and Numero Tokyo.

Thannasis is based in London.
