Carlos Serrao is originally from Miami, Florida and his first introduction to photography was during his experience documenting the local skateboard scene in Florida. Becoming a bit of a local hero in the skateboard scene through his photography, Carlos decided to move to LA to professionally pursue his love of photography.
Shortly after arriving in LA, his success grew rapidly due to his extraordinary style and unique approach to photographing sports images and portraits. His major advertising work began with Nike's Speed Campaign for the 2004 Athens Olympics, shooting 37 global athletes and resulting in the book The Beauty of Speed. He followed that successful campaign with other major advertising brands who were soon commissioning Serrao to shoot top brand campaigns world-wide.
Since then, Serrao has successfully managed to shoot not only the worlds most recognisable celebrities and athletes but has become one of the worlds most internationally respected contemporary photographers.
In 2008, his filmmaking collaborative began and he has created video content for Nike, Speedo, Aaron Paul, Adidas, FM Global, Lexus, Esquire, GQ, V Magazine, VMan Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, ESPN to name a few.
Carlos splits his time between London, Los Angeles and New York.
